The extended DD team — consisting of not only our current consultants, but also council members, extended network of consultants and wider community members — met in Viljandi, Estonia for two days to develop our approach and make some strategic choices.
OUR APPROACH
We take pride in being able to say that when DD is involved, our partners and clients can be sure that we employ our impact-focused approach to any project we work on. But we also believe that this approach needs to constantly improve as well.
So, this year we focused on discussing how best to use the fundamental framework and practical tools of systems thinking and systems theory. We have been experimenting with the systems approach for a few years already, but this was a time to take stock of our work so far and figure out a way forward.
OUR STRATEGY
Our Center for Democracy has reached its two-year milestone, having significantly developed our capacities, networks, finances, and initial projects. However, we believe it is now time to enhance our strategic vision for the center. Therefore, during our time in Viljandi, we dedicated time to review our core objectives and formulate a more ambitious strategy.
